According to Trust Trade, this will be available this coming gunshow. The MSRP is around P35k with possible gunshow discount pa daw. Worth it kaya?

Kung looks at price lang pag-uusapan, PANALO! I remember reading in another forum though about the reliabilty and aftermarket issues of Taurus' 24/7s in .45. Well, baka ok(?) naman yung 1911 platform nila. Di kaya better to wait and get feedback first from shooters who may have actually tried this piece?

Norinco pa rin ako. Sa P 35k, nakabili na ako ng standard norinco and the rest will be used for modifications I like. anyways, its just me. That particular Taurus is nice and interesting. Pero the price is not just that nice for me.

I dont know about the metal quality, nakita ko kasi yung mga taurus

just what i heard and read it's made of forged steel, though according to some reports the release in the market was delayed because of some problems. it's really good looking but i still go for norincos, it's in the market already for a very long time now but you can not hear any negative reports. just my two cents...

Ok review on gunblast.com, but then again, everything seems to be a good buy on that site...

35k? Meaning almost 40k with the licensing? I'd get something else...

Still Norinco Enhanced or Police for me - all forged! Not much reviews on norincos in US based gun magazines because they are banned there in the first place. Ok lang. More for us. :tongueout:

Wilson used to modify Norcs years ago using the frames and slides. Can't remember which gun rag featured it.

Never had a problem with Taurus PT92. If you're wondering why the receiver is light, it's because it's made of aluminum. The slide is metal, and they are never brittle. The thickness of the slide of the Taurus and Berettas are just the same. The plant that Taurus bought was a Beretta plant in Brazil that supplied firearms to Brazil's military. One thing noticeable aside from the safety mechanism and the magazine catch holes (Beretta has smaller ones and you can use Taurus magazines in Berettas), is that the Taurus have non-chromed barrel, while Berettas have chromed barrels.

I've shot thousands of rounds in my PT 92 before giving it to my wife. Experienced only a couple of jams caused by poorly-reloaded ammo.

I think that the Taurus 1911 is a hit in the States because of the price and the reliability it gave its owners when it came out. Not like the Kimbers with external extractors that was a disaster. With a $400.00 gun with beavertails, custom sights, etc., you could never go wrong with a Taurus (considering gunsmithing labor is VERY expensive in the US and the wait times are VERY LONG).

Norincos were and are still very popular in the States. 2nd hand Norinco 1911s still command a decent price. Hadn't Clinton banned the Norincos, I bet they're still best sellers. The metal on the Norincos are excellent.

I don't see it as any better than an Armscor.

Taurus is a fine company but you already have great Armscor guns available.
