    Ya' think? ;-)

They were supposed to talk to me about replacement, or credit towards another gun entirely. That was from one of their "Customer Advocates" which is a step above Customer Service, to try and head off these cluster situations. Not too thrilled this feel through the cracks and didn't happen. Again.

I do honestly believe they only have low level techs, which I get, but wouldn't there be a "master tech" / actual gunsmith that would handle the repeat offender guns?

Curious to know ... who is our resident Taurus spokesperson???

Well, I disagree slightly. From my hard core working days, what I get the feel of is they are organized and operate with good intentions, but there are too many holes in their system and processes that bowling balls routinely fall through it.

Yeah, just as good as bad can get. I kinda' feel sorry for them, as mentioned, they try. They're just too good at failing.

One of their "Customer Advocates" is supposed to call me no later than Monday. They are positioned as "the buck stops here" people, but they've proven to me those are only words. Taurus really doesn't give them the authority to do anything beyond what existing processes offered.

I would imagine that's a recipe for "how to hate your job"

I think the 24/7 is the one in which some examples fired if you shook it too hard. Great design :ack:

A side note to my G2C and steel case ammo. I changed my magazine loader to an Uplula. (Do not even consider another brand of loader). It loaded all four of my magazines to the brim w/o a hicup. Back to range shortly to check them and my Fiocci ammo in actual shooting.
The Remington Green Box ball I used last range trip functioned nearly perfectly. The latter 140ish rounds out of 150 went into battery flawlessly. No stove pipes either. I had maybe 5-6 failure to go into battery, and those at the beginning of the box.

As a few gun shop owners told me, the G2C occasionally needs a 500 or so round break in.

It ate the three different makes of nickel cased ammo that included Hirtenburger lead soft tip I fed it like popcorn with no issues from the first shooting.

So far, no real issues with the pistol that haven't ironed out or were not the pistol's fault. IE loader trouble. Nice groups too out to about 5-6 yards.

About 500 rounds total so far.

    I wouldn't think a $200 polymer handgun would require a break in.

I’d call them back and say you’d like them to transfer about 400 dollars to x company of your choice to buy something that’s not a POS.

So .... While traveling a customer advocate guy from Taurus called me.

Immediately states they will replace my gun with a G2C. Mine is one gen earlier but is the same thing.

I decided to say no, that I want the G3C as it at least has some enhancements and I'm hoping had better QC. The G2 is just a marketing name and as mentioned, the same gun

That was a curve ball to him but says he will check, isn't something he has authority to do

I don't expect to hear a yes but after all the BS they put me thru, I am happy to teach them a lesson, or at least try

I know, I'm a small and menial person!

Tell them to replace it with a Glock.

Yup, but the 24/7 G2 is a completely different animal. It has a unique trigger bar assembly and disconnect that isn't used on any other Taurus made, and didnt suffer from the shake'n'shoot.

IIRC, the PT24/7G2 was the first of the G2 models that didn't fall under "The Great Taurus Recall" and get screwed by everyone getting the same G2c 9mm, regardless of what caliber went int. The PT111 Millenium G2 was out shortly after (and then rebranded as G2, G2c, G2s, etc)

    Surprise, surprise surprise

As a "hail Mary" for all the work & frustration & missed commitments Taurus put me through I asked for a replacement of my old gen gun with their newest G3C

I was shocked to hear back this soon, and I had to lift my jaw off the floor they are indeed going to replace with the new G3C, which costs a bit more than my older gen ($75ish right now)

It's on backorder, and I confirmed that looking at the usual online retailers, so I'll be waiting til whenever to get it. No info in Taurus' note to me on the obvious question of ETA

Still, not bad. They definitely struggle with this stuff, but at least did the right thing here.

Took a prodigious amount of patience, diplomacy mixed in with firmness, unfailing follow up and appealing to peoples' better selves to get to this point, but hey, at least they responded to it.

I didn’t read the middle 5 pages, but I gather they agreed to give you a new, better gun for your used, second-hand gun without you even sending it to them?
