The G21 Torture test video thread got me wondering how prevalent this phenomenon is here on GT.

Do you get all dolled up just to go to the range? Do you pile on the gear so you can look tacticool to your friends?

No. I just wear my normal everyday clothes.

Although I think I've seen the same Ranger/commando wannabe at every range in every state I've ever been too. Severely overweight, black t-shirt, BDU pants, tacticool boots. There seems to be one of him at every range.

You don't think that I spent all my money at Brigade Quartermaster for nothing?

Besides, you gotta train like you fight.

Gun shows are worse... if it isn't tactical, it is hunting gear. Though why you need camo in the isle between the Jerky booth and the ShamWOW! booth is beyond me.

No, but then again I have a several thousand acre ranch where I do all my shooting, so jeans, hiking boots, and whatever shirt or sweater I happen to be wearing. I do occasionally wear my IBA just to stay used to shooting in it, but it's woodland pattern, so it doesn't match anything anyway.

Please, I get dressed up like that just to practice clearing the house, you should see me when I go to the range, Takkykool Ninja!!! Not really, The only camo I own is mossy oak for deer season, and I bet the closest some of these guys have been to a military branch is the Army Navy Store!! Hunny quick, come take a picture of me all dressed up with my gun!!

I am talking specifically about the guy with the $100 haircut, a $5000 watch and a manicure dressed in camo pants, a realtree shirt and drop-leg holster.

But hey... if the gear fits..

In a true SHTF situation I will most likely be woken up in the middle of the night to defend my home. Therefore, to keep things as realistic as possible, I only wear my boxers to the range.

I'm usually dressed for fishing. The clothes are so much more comfortable, and even fashionable in any town on the Third Coast.

I never wear my hunting camo, except when hunting, to keep it as scent free as possible. Otherwise it would smell like coffee and chili dogs.

I don't wear camo anymore since I left SWAT.

I do wear vests, jackets and pants with a lot of pockets because I carry a lot of stuff.

I go to the range just as I go anywhere else sans the muffs.

A better question would be: Why does the shorter person of this couple have on knee pads??? Oh wait, you already answered that question here:
