I hope they put all 10 mill in another Target store, in the suburbs and way away from the one that got looted in Minneapolis.

As a bonus, everyone can still use whatever bathroom they want.

Well if these funds are used as responsibly as most of these organizations do expect a lot of unexplained "leakage."

Goody for them. I already don’t shop there so I don’t care how they waste themselves.

Besides it being a drop-in-the-bucket for Target to donate $10M, by the time they collect on their insurance (unless riots & civil unrest losses aren't covered) and/or write the losses & donations off on their corporate income tax, they will be money ahead. It's nothing more than Smoke-N-Mirrors

The downtown Minneapolis Target store was built with a public subsidy of $60 million. Nearby Brooklyn Park pledged $22 million in tax breaks for Target’s headquarters.

They're just giving some of that money back. I wouldn't be surprised if the city is liable in the initial building contracts for some, if not all, of the damages. If not, I am sure it will come up in any future inner city store construction in other large metropolitan areas in other states.

If you want job investment in hard hit areas, the community has to protect it. Not loot and burn them. These stores, albeit low waged entities, are all some have in the inner cities. Along with the mom and pop stores.

Business' is run for profit. It is not there to cater to criminals and pushy political hard line groups. Even though it looks like it sometimes.

The stores that cave into the rioters are just saying, "If you want something just cause problems and destroy property and we will cave in and give you stuff." I haven't gone to a Target store for maybe 10 yrs now. I will continue that habit.

Millions for defense, not one cent for tribute. Words TARGET will ever use.

My brother, his wife work (ed) at Target. She was high up in store management. She retired, has job she enjoys in retirement. (Not the pay but what she loves, they get by)
He retired and got a basic job there. He loves it. Again less pay. But he does not need a gym membership.
I have been in his target twice. (To let him know what to get me for my birthday) other then that maybe in a Target 5 times in last 20 yrs. traveling, pull off in unknown area for something. Their products are not great quality, price, and most staff are “ok”

Target is spending $10 million for a lock on the market down there once they rebuild, and for PR that will drive people to spend money in their stores vs elsewhere. It's essentially pennies on the dollar relative to the profit it will drive. It's a smart move.
