Taran Tactical mag extensions on the G26...

Hey guys. :wavey:

I'm a big fan of Taran Tactical mag extensions. I know they are uber expensive, but I feel like they are probably the best and like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I run them on my 43 and I just recently picked up a gen5 26.

I was just curious if you can use the TTI extensions on the stubby G26 magazines without issues. Their website doesn't have a certain model listed for it like it does a full size 9/40 mag and a unique one for the 19/23 series.

When the 26 was released by Glock in the 90’s, there was only one extension. allowed by Glock /GSSF in competition that was Pearce.

Fast forward 20 plus years, I’ve retained (3) 26’s and have kept
(40) mags with Pearce plus two extensions. I’ve never had a failure in averaging over 15k rounds a year and still smart carry this platform today.

Sorry I cannot comment on the Taran nor the Glock Oem extension as they both entered later in the picture.

I believe I have $9.95 a piece or $400.00 in extensions.... but never a hiccup. No need for more, different, or a reason of interest as it was one thing less to be concerned with.

The interesting thing about mag extensions for this application is that you can just run the factory unaltered Magazines. and get higher capacity. It’s also interesting to note that a factory +2 extension is in total length only shorter by the thickness of the base plate when compared to a factory 15 round magazine that you can buy on sale for $19.99 from CDNN. That sale just ended three days ago. I think even when they’re not on sale they’re like $22. Yes, the +2 factor extension is shaped slightly different so it’s smaller but the absolute length again is literally almost the same. So why not have a +5 and a reliable less expensive package if it will all work for you?

On my G26 I have been running Glock +2 and Pearce +2 for over two decades without any problem whatsoever. They are not as expensive as the TTIs but work flawlessly.
But given my very positive experience with the TTI extensions on my G43s, I would not anticipate any issue with them for the G26 or other Glocks models...

I have a bunch of G26 mags with various makes of +2 extensions. They all work fine. However, I'll toss out a suggestion to you with what I (and a lot of us here) have done; Use a Glock 19 mag with an Xgrip. It's the same overall length as using a +2 extension (or very close) and you don't have to worry about if the spring fits and all that stuff. And it feels fantastic to shoot. Plus you pick up an additional 5 rounds instead of 2.

You absolutely can use the Taran Tactical extensions on Glock 26 magazines. I have half a dozen on various Glock 26 mags and they have all functioned flawlessly. I really like how they add 3 rounds to the magazine giving me a 13+1 capability. They also almost perfectly split the difference in size between the flush fit 10 round magazine and the 15 round Glock 19 magazine.

TT +3 extension.

Glock 19 mag for comparison.

I will echo what pokersamurai posted above. The Taran Tactical Glock 19 +3 extension works flawlessly with Glock 26 mags, adding 3 rounds to give 13 + 1 capacity for only about a half inch increase in length. Extremely concealable, 14 rounds total, and heavy enough to be more controllable than micro 9mm pistols.
