    Anyone have experience with them?

EDIT: I'm talking about the Tapco FIXED stocks.

They look shorter than the K-Var stock but for some reason they look thicker/blockier. Are they just like any other standard AK stock or are they really thicker?

I've been bouncing between the folding, K-Var, and Tapco stocks...the K-Var looks significantly longer than a standard AK stock but does hold a cleaning kit. It also costs ~$30 more than the Tapco.

Please share your experience with the Tapco though.

    Thanks!

I really like the Tapco six-position M-4 style stock and I really hate their folder. The folder only folds to the right. It is wobbly but I've heard that they improved that since I had one. It is also too long for me when wearing a heavy coat but YMMV.

I have the SKS Tapco sliding, I love it, I can get Tapco stocks below cost at Midway.
    Let me know.

I used one for compliance parts. The fit wasn't great, the length of pull seemed about the same as the Romanian stock it had on it, and the metal recoil pad rusted easily.

    I'd look elsewhere.

Got mine from midway, supposedly from arsenal usa. Didnt see an arsenal stamping, just "us" and a bunch of tiny numbers.Quality looks good but the buttplate looks rather flimsy, very thin sheet metal stampings.

Ha! I guess I'll spring for the K-Var. It just looks a little long compared to my SAR-1 (Romanian) AK. :dunno:

Is it longer? If so, how much?

    Thanks!

    NATO length.

    So it's a difference of 1.25"?

I wonder where the cheapest place is to order the regular length one?

    Thanks!

I have a fixed tapco warsaw length on my MAK90 and love it... I'm about 5'11" 170lbs and it shoulders great, but my larger friends (250-350lbs) find it much to short.

I hate the tapco stuff, feels cheap, and its all chinese made anyway...
I would go with a rommy folder, or something a little more beefy myself.

I think I'm going to go with the Nato K-Var for now. Seems like it'd give me a good, solid, durable stock. If in the future I want to screw around with the trunion, rivets, etc...I'll put a Magpul CTR on it...but I doubt I'll get that daring with this gun.

    Thanks!
