Hi,

With Talon not selling grips for G36 yet, are there any good alternatives short of making your own?

Thanks

I heard Agrip is nice, its more of a softer material. Also, you could try cuting your own grip pattern out of skateboard tape, which is basically what Talon Grip is.

You could also go the stippling route... I highly recommend Lane at Cold Bore Customs if you go that route. :wavey:
Here is what I do with Talon Grips. This will work for you too.
When I first tried Talon Grips the side panels rubbed my skin a little, rubbed the holster a bit and caught on my t-shirt too much.
I took them off and used another set only I cut them to fit in the areas that my fingers went across and on the back strap area.
Those are really where you "Need" the grip most.
Talon Grip is great because it is good and grippy, but not too much like stair tread tape or skate board tape.
I feathered the edges with some of the extra tape and it works perfectly.
Mine have been on for a long time and numerous cleanings because I was very careful to clean the area before sticking the tape on and I used a hair dryer to heat it up as I pressed the tape in place.
They are relatively cheap so order a couple of sets for a big gun like the 21 and then trim them to what you need.
I was thinking the same thing. Every month or so I would go to the Sponsor Showcase Forum, check and post question of when Talon will make grips for the Glock36. They always tell me they are going to get on it asap. But its been a LONG time that I've been asking them to make em'. I'm not really complaining, they are probably too busy with their business. So I sit and wait.. lol

Skateboard grip tape doesn't sound like a bad idea to make your own grips out of. Guess its trial-N-error until the grips comes out right.

I am waiting too. Love the Talons.

I went ahead and traced side panels and transferred to
some deck tape I had. Then cut 3 strips for front and
3 strips for back. I really like the feel. I will get some talons
when they come out.
Thanks gentlemen,

I did contact Talon directly and they said they are "working on getting them out" but they didn't specify whether it was going to be two months or two years.

On their FAQ section it says the man who makes them didn't have access to one, so that's why they're not out. They suggest sending the gun to them for a fitting, but I'm not interested in that either.

Since the G36 is my daily carry I wasn't interested in getting something too abrasive to clothes/skin so I'm going to try Agrip for the 36 and Talon for my other models.

Thanks again.

i made my own.
except i dont like the sandpaper sides. i like the rubber decalgrip sides. so i used rubber decalgrips and hybridized it with skate tape to put the fingergrooves and backstrap in...

its less grindy on clothes and skin.

edit: FWIW i LOVE the talon grips for shooting. best grip available for a glock imho. they just grind up my clothes so i dont leave them on my carry guns.

Nice :wow: Your gun grip is motivating me to buy some skate grips. Guess Im going to do a DYI side project. Also, I really like the "butt plug" for the mag/handle. Ohh. wipe your slide down!! lol

I was gonna say the rubber decal grip also. Grip the glock front to rear and absolutely nothing is needed and the gun will not move in your hands at all(even when all sweaty). The G3 texture offers plenty of grip.
I did finally buy a G36 and am working on it, I promise. I love the G36 BTW, probably my favorite Glock now.
THIS! Love that stuff!

I have looked into so many types of products. Bottom line is these work the best and with some slight modification they can be worn comfortably against the skin. Yes, I am still looking, but I am very picky.

I have a material that came close but my friends gave the no-go, so no-go it was. Got to trust your friends.
