I am thinking about getting a police trade in 92fs, why you ask!?

Why would i want a beat up police trade in? I dont know, maybe i want a worn in piston for once.

I am aware that the "safety/decocker" goes the "wrong way".

I know its a big and heavy pistol.

I am aware i am dipping into my aimpoint funds....yet the price seems too damn good for this pistol.

Why!? Why must this pistol shoot so damn smooth!

Help me out guys, i think i have a problem with irrational purchases! :)

They really aren't all that heavy with their aluminum frames.

One can not find fault with that choice . One great service pistol and very reliable and sweet to shoot. Buy it.

I think the Cz-75 is a much more durable combat weapon but the Beretta 92 is a fine classic. I just personally don't believe it is in the same league with Cz in the non-polymer department. Either way you go, you will have a true classic.

And just because it is a police trade-in does not necessarily mean that it got beat up/shot a lot. I've seen many police trade-ins that are still pretty solid, but just have a lot of holster wear.

If you enjoy shooting one, then get it. No need to talk you out of it.

The 92fs is a fine pistol. A tad on the big side, but a fine weapon. I regret trading the one I had.

Well, you are the only one who followed directions so far! ;)

If I would get any another 9mm that i dont need, it would be a steyr m9a1 or a cz 75. Im still upset about not getting the steyr for dirt cheap when i had the chance.

If you like it, buy it. I don't care for Berettas but that is another issue. Good luck.

Bulky but not heavy. It it is in good shape I'd go for it, just pick a good one.

    Never could follow directions.

Oh come on. I'm sure you could come up with one negative aspect of this pistol....

Dare I say it? What the heck,.......

If I had to choose, I'd keep my 92fs over my G19.:whistling:

the 92FS was the first pistol i ever shot, specifically it was the M9 variant. i disliked the Da pull and if i could do it again i would change the mainspring with a 92D spring

having said that, i've shot DA/SA pistols more than i use to now and would find few faults with the pistol i couldn't overcome with more range time

So far I only found three pistols that fit my hand as well (or a little bit better) than Beretta 92:
    - CZ 75,
    - 1911,
    - Steyr M9.
I didn't try BHP so far though.

Go ahead and buy the 92 and then buy a G19. Hold them side by side and ask yourself "Does this huge 92 do anything better than this smaller and more compact G19?"

Then you answer,"Hell no, it doesn't do anything better than the G19"

Then you sell the 92 and use the money to buy more fun stuff for the G19.

I wouldn't think of talking you out of such a sweet shooting and well built firearm. ;)

Cabelas had a NIB Inox 92FS today. It had the "stainless controls" unlike many I have seen in recent years. I didn't know they made them this way nowadays. It was priced in the $700's so it stayed at Cabela's...

Why try to talk you out of such a fine firearm. It is one of the most tested firearms ever. I don't remember now how many different tests it passed before being adopted for use by the military (m9). But I think it was 4. It has set records for shot fired before a malfunction etc.

I always say get it if you don't then you will wonder why you didn't the rest of your life. Better to try it and not like it then sell it then it is to not and wonder what if the rest of your life.
