I bought a Gen1 G17 about four months after they first hit he states. I fell in love. I could shoot a nine inch pie pan group at 75 yards. In the intervening years a period of poverty had me selling it.

Flash ahead to the Gen3 G17 I have now. I just picked up an Armored Car gig and naturally have been doing some muscle memory tuneup shooting especially with Human Silhouettes from the hip and from a variety of on ground positions.

At my same elevated deck on our house to the opposite bank of our lake is where I so enjoyed shooting the Gen1. The Gen3 shoots exactly the same. The front sight covering the target nets the exact same 9" pie plate groups. Well within minute of man.

I can't imagine carrying anything else especially considering I'm carrying 23 +1 in the gun with 3 extra 19 round mags all loaded with +P Golden Sabre. Feeling pretty safe. Now I just need to lube my neck to keep my swivel loose and moving.

As with most machines, the tool is more accurate than the operator.
