I was shopping the local Walmarts looking for the Remington 870 12 ga. Express Combo. You get a 28" ribbed barrel and a 20" unrifled barrel with rifle sights for $330. That was a great deal in itself, but when the clerk went to ring it up I got an instant discount at the register. It seems the older stock that WalMart had on hand for this past hunting season is on clearance now. I got the combo for $275.00!!! Less $300.00 out the door. It's a very nice gun too, can't wait to shoot it.

Yah - Remington has some deals on 870 Express models. Last year I had a $30 coupon for an 870E - I ended up with a 28" ribbed model for less than $200 - I didn't get hte rifled barrel - but I don't need it. I can hunt with a rifle where I live.

In this Combo the 20" barrel is smoothbore with rifle sights. The only thing I didn't like about it was the plain jane wood stock and forend. I replaced them with black synthetic from Choate. It looks very sleek now.
