So in appeasement, do you cup and caress or squeeze and tickle? Doesn’t matter, it’s not something I am prone to do.

Kneeling is a semi supported shooting position.

Reading Redbirds posts appears to show that he believes taking a knee provides a stable shooting platform. That shows respect and deference.

Sounds useful to employ the technique just before you shoot the people you are showing respect and deference to.

Apparently this is a taught military technique?

What do those who say showing respect to others is the way to garner positive attention, when the opposition is not a rational actor? Those who will not leave you to your current status...

The world is not a martial arts dojo where bowing to an honorable opponent is proper form.

The social order exists so that as many people can enjoy and flourish in it as possible. If one refuses the social order, one can either remove themselves from it and make no demands of it or they will actively resist and destroy it and those who respect the social order.

Lots of people have knelt before their captors, prayed as they died at the hands of their enemies, and refused to resist. It never made it any better for the victims.

When I started as a police officer, I was taught to never, under any circumstances, call a criminal"sir." Good advice then and good advice now - never give away your power to your opponent.

We are entering the "rules of engagement" and "acceptable casualties" conversation. Two of the main reasons some military folks struggle transitioning to LE.

Never surrendered in 40 years of law enforcement! Will not do it now! I will only kneel to my God and his Son Jesus Christ!

Kneeling in the face of any subsection of the public puts the officers at a HUGE tactical disadvantage.

Also, we didn't require Germany and Japan to kneel to us after their capitulation at the end of WWII. As a matter of fact, we allowed the Japanese to remove their sacred Chrysanthemum from their rifles prior to turning over to the allies in order to give them a sense of dignity during their surrender. German Commanders were permitted to address their troops proudly upon surrender (as can be seen in Band of Brothers). This is contrasted to the Japanese making US and British pilots kneel prior to cutting their heads off with swords, and to the Nazis who made the Jews kneel prior to dispatching them.

    See the difference now?

To get graphic, my take is that all who take a knee are at the right level to do something else, which to me, is what they are doing in essence.

If someone would ask me if I respected those who kneel for this leftist crappe, HECK FRACKIN' NO!!!
