Read a story on comments made by the Paterino Family yesterday.................seems they are totally against the story/findings/conclusions put forth by the ex FBI director. There's simply no way the man they knew would allow what did go on......to go on they say.

Reminds me of the left an awful lot. They believe what they want to believe, what they must believe to exist. To admit what the man they loved did......would in their mind make them responsible in some way.................which they were. There's enough blame here to go around and around me thinks.

IMHO if the school won't tear the statue down the students/fans will at the start of the football season.

Yeah like the Germans during WWII, NOBODY saw or knew anything. In this case, sounds like EVERYBODY from the janitors up KNEW.

I just don't understand the mind-set that could allow child molestation by a notable coach to go for so long and in the open, literally. If this happened in Texas at Rice or U of T, then either the coach would disappear, like Hoffa, or else would be involved fatally in a car jacking gone wrong so to speak.

I don't know, donations to penn state are up almost to record levels.

if there are some that try to tear the statue down, they'll be in for a fight from those that love paterno and the way things were.

In a tight economy, getting a job with a penn state diploma in your hand just got a little bit harder

So... people with the morals of trash support a coach who was trash. No surprise.

Donations are up for the year. People donated in support of the school in a time of uncertainty. Knowing on e mans mistake could ruin the school! Now that it's out that the "school" knew about the one mans actions and covered them up to "protect the program" I think some of those people are now regretting there donations. I know I would be.

My grandfather was a penn state graduate, I'm sure he is rolling over in his grave at the actions of these administrators and staff.

They should "decorate" the statue until it is removed.

I'm not a PA native but live here now, and I have no connection to PSU.

I can tell you there is no shortage of PSU pride here. Alums all still have PSU stickers on their cars, and the gym I go to is awash in PSU t-shirts, hats, etc.

There seems to be no shame here yet. It may eventually develop as this Paterno angle gets played out.

What happened by the rapist sandusky is so egregious that every effort must be made to find the whole truth, and everyone behind the coverup. Still, no one, including Paterno should be thrown to the dogs unless there is irrefutable evidence of guilt. If ultimately he is found to have known and done nothing to protect the victims, the statue should be melted and the sports program shut down for a period of years.

IMO, university foundation fundraising schemes are deeply corrupt. They should not profit from rape and abuse.

He was a POS of a human that thought the name of football and his school was more important then the safety of children. He covered up for a child rapist and I hope he's rotting in hell right now!:steamed:

Have to admit it I agree! The statue has to go. Unfortunately he was a bad human being cause he was a great football coach. Just think if you were a parent that trusted your son with him. Not good!:dunno:

it appears from the link I posted that Freeh may have been complicit in covering up internal reviews that may have caused hundreds (if not thousands) of wrongful convictions to stand....but Paterno is guilty on Freeh's word?
