I am looking for a tactical light for my duty weapon... I have looked at many different styles and brands. Price is not a issue when it comes to being able to see while on duty. I want a light thats worth the money, dont want to have to go and buy another one in a year or so... I would like to get some feedback on what everyone here might think... Thxs

As previously posted, if you plan on shooting on the internet, don't use a mounted weapon light. If it's for real world home defense or hobby, you're fine. I would suggest a TLR-1.

Plus One on the Streamlight TLR1. I have that light on my duty Glock 34.

Another vote for Streamlight TLR-1. I use it on a 22.

SUREFIRE X300! though the tlr-r's are pretty nice the quality does not compare with that of surefire. Yes they are about twice as much but to me its well worth it. If it will be for a duty gun who cares about the extra cash get the best equipment money can buy. Also if you do decide to go this route buy yourself the pressure switch (its an extra 60 bucks)

It's okay for the money, and would serve for light duty. But it's bulb-based, and I'd strongly recommend an LED-based (Light Emitting Diode) illuminator.

    Best: SureFire X300

    Almost As Good: Insight WX150

    Great Value: TLR-1 C4

All of the above are good, but if I were a cop, I'd go with the X300 or WX150.

I prefer the Insight WX150 for the following reasons:

    1. Great build quality (very solid)
    2. 150 Lumens
    3. More compact then a Surefire
    4. Less expensive then a Surefire with about equal performance
    5. Fantastic controls (momentary, constant, strobe)
    6. Will fit in most holsters designed for the M3
    7. Easy to attach and detach

Overall I feel it has the best bang for the buck, and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a great tac light.

    :agree:

    I'd have to agree...

I've got the standard Insight XTI Procyon and it certainly does compare well performance-wise to my SureFire X200B.

The B-version of the X200 is arguably a bit better than the the new X300 for dedicated indoor use, but the X300 offers better all around performance.

While the SureFire's performance is outstanding, and its construction exquisite, the Insight XTI Procyon, at $100.00 less, is a real contender! The newer WX150 is an improved versioin of my XTI Procyon...

Attached is a pic of the Procyon vs. the X200B, in the same room, under the same conditions. You tell me! :dunno:
