How can I clean off all the headers and junk from T-Bird's email jokes and mesages before I forward them on? It takes forever to get to the body of the message and I feel foolish passing them on "as is".
    Thank You

This may help, but I'm not sure:

Tools > Account Settings > Composition and Addressing

Under "Automatically quote the original message when replying" choose "Select the quote."

I tried that already and it didn't not work when forwarding. Thanks anyway.

Just don't forward jokes. I hate getting forwarded email and have even gone so far as to block my own grandmother because of it (don't get all spun up, I warned her first). As soon as I get the impression that someone I know uses my email address for nothing except forwarding their junkmail, they're blocked.

Yes, to me, those jokes rank right down there with Viagra and cheap software ads. No thanks.

    Yeah, I'm cold.

Did the same to my Aunt. Not only did she forward jokes, but just about every e-mail thread about a missing girl, a horrible computer virus, and TERRIBLE poems that couldn't make it in a Hallmark card that say "forward this to everyone you love".;Q

    You're not cold. Just pragmatic.

Gosh, someone's underwear is on a little tight. I apologize if I have offended you.

I just don't know why people bother with forwarding those chain letters/jokes/etc. I get much more enjoyment out of someone sending me a personal email, even if it's just to say "What's up?", versus receiving a carbon copy (usually complete with a bunch of >>>>> indicating how many times the message has been forwarded) of some silly (and usually very old) joke/picture/fake virus warning/whatever. 99% of the time, I delete anything with FW: in the subject line, without even glancing at it. To this day, I have yet to have bad luck for not forwarding it those mails to 10 friends.

BTW, you might want to try copying the text into an editor and running grep, sed and awk to filter out the unnecessaries. Unfortunately, learning regular expressions will probably take up more of your time.;g
