Anyone else totally frustrated by the lack of 9mm ammo available in the market? I can’t find much of anything and I’m running out. I’m glad I didn’t ditch my .40 and .45 caliber pistols. 9mm is currently vapor ware. Either the stock is being sold as fast as it’s listed or it just isn’t available.

It's hard to find at the moment simply because everyone uses it.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger OP ... ;)

My former agency issues/approves duty weapons in all 3 major calibers (9, .40 & .45), and while we started out with a lot more .40's & .45's in circulation when all the new duty weapons were ordered (and people were allowed to buy their own off an approved list), the demand soon ramped up for 9's. :)

I learned from a friend of mine that while they have pallets of .40 & .45, they're running at rock bottom inventory for 9 duty ammo, and the next back-ordered shipments are maybe 2-3 months out.

Mixed advantages/disadvantages to so quickly follow the herd. ;)

FWIW, while I'm a longtime .45ACP shooter, and I really like carrying and shooting my 9's ... but if I were going to return to duty today, I'd ask for one of the .40's. Not only for the acceptable effectiveness of the caliber as a service caliber, but also to take momentary advantage of the surfeit of .40 ammo languishing and therefore available for training right now. Burning powder is burning powder. (Well, the advantage of the small 9-like grip frame, and it being a decent compromise in caliber, capacity and felt recoil isn't a bad thing, either.)

I've got plenty 9mm. Had plenty, bought plenty more in March when this started.

I could use more .45acp though. Down to ~500rds. :alex:

I haven't had too much trouble. I get notifications from Target Sports pretty regularly. It's more expensive than what I was paying pre-panic, but at least I can keep shooting. I'm a Prime member with them so that helps.

I’m glad I reload. I keep thousands of factory rounds on hand at all times but I keep enough reloading supplies on hand to do 10x that.

This is why I own several firearms in several different calibers. 9, 40, 357 Sig, 10mm, 45 ACP. Rifles in 5.56, 7.62X39, 308 Winchester and next week, 6.8 SPC.

Swung by Cabela’s, today. They were out of hollowpoints in mid March when the virus hit and still out today except for four boxes of 40 S&W and a few boxes of really odd stuff like 25 acp and 454 Casul.
I bought two of the 40 hollowpoints and the last pound of gunpowder. Unfortunately they didn’t have any pistol primers( the real shortage).

I have plenty SD ammo in 9mm, probably more than I'd need if shooting were to start. And I have more than enough 150gr stuff for the little carbine in the same instance. I won't run out of 556, but I'd be a little light on 300blk. The Sandy Hook run on guns and ammo taught me to buy whenever, so I do. I'm not really feeling an ammo shortage right now...YMMV

I bought 200 rds of cci blazer brass today at rural king just because it was there lol. It's out there you just have to look. Also everyone remember who price gouged during this and who didn't. The good guys need to be rewarded when this Is over.
