Ok, I traded emails last week with Mike. I sent a check over a week ago, and he is maybe a few hundred miles from me. I've sent emails asking if he received the check. Now, no responses. Also, I've tried to go the website and my browser will not let me go there, and google indicates malicious software downloading from the site. Anyone else have any issues?

ETA: NO problems with this ammo. The issue was corrected. The issue concerned the website. The website would not load and I got a warning about malicious software. The issue was fixed by the site owner. This post was not titled correctly. Please note: When someone sees a warning message about malicious software on a website, that can lead to a cause for concern, especially when dealing with an online retailer for the first time.

I have traded PM's with him over the past few weeks. Have not had any issues with him responding. You might want to try reaching him via PM. Also let him know about the Google warning.

Placed an order for ammo on 10/12. Order should be shipping today. During one of our conversations he said "We make ammo on the next run after an order is placed." I ordered 10mm ammo. If you ordered the same caliber, you might be in the same batch as mine.

I had the malicious software warning about his site a few weeks ago. It was "cleaned" and now he has it again (based on your experience). Looks like the company he is using to host his site has some serious security issues. Just my opinion, but he might want to consider switching to a different host. To Mike's credit, if I understood him correctly, he has Google check his site to make sure all is a-ok.

I placed an order with him, based mostly on the good recommendations of the folks of this forum. If you are having issues reaching him via email, try PMs. In my limited experience, he has been very responsive to PMs. Also, (speculation on my side) if indeed he has malware at his site, it might be affecting the proper delivery of emails.

Just my $0.02 worth, YMMV

Mike has always been very easy for me to communicate with, Ive never had any issues with him or his ammo. Im sure everything will get worked out for the best. It can sometimes take some time to get the ammo you ordered, it says so on the website, up to 3-4 weeks...

I already traded emails with him earlier today. My issue was with the inability to reach him or get on the website, not order time. Thanks for the feedback. Mike said my ammo was shipping Thursday.

No, they did not. Mike decided not to sell me the ammo because of my post here. No worries, though. I'm ordering a reloading kit this week so I can make my own ammo.
Doesn't make sense. How does he know who posted vs who ordered ?

Moreover, I have a simple rule in my biz: Don't waste time serving an already soured customer. They are already spoiled, and giving more of even the best apples will only make it worse. You would lose other better customers if you take time serving soured ones, that's opportunity cost. Others may disagree. But we put our resource where we think they will give the best positive effect.

I reloaded the affected page that had code injected and asked the webhost to check security again.

I did this before and they say the settings and overwrite protections are set correctly. This makes the fourth time this has happened.

It's just on the front page and is adware.

Google is rechecking.

Yes, your Title Swamp Fox Problem was way out of line. Incredible that you would type such a headline without checking to see if the check was late arriving at Mikes. It gives a false impression.

While most of us shoot for fun as a hobby, people like Mike at Swamp Fox depend on business from us to eat and pay the electric bill. This is not a hobby for Mike; it is his bread and butter.

Like any business in the Gun Industry I am sure profit margins are thin and this sort of BS can wear a man out.

I couldn't agree more...

Swampfox is a one man band, not only does he have to be a ballistic, ammo, gun expert but a computer expert as well. With all the time in the world to chat about the nuances of ammo construction.

For those of you that have no clue what it takes to run a small business. Please give the guy a break, the website says 3-4 weeks, I'm not speaking for him, but there is no way he can answer the phone, emails etc. keep his website running and then provide the level of service he's promised on the website.

3-4 weeks.

Place your order, mail your check and patiently wait. Lighten up and let the man do his work.

Gun guy's, have a bad habit of wanting it yesterday and wanting it for the least amount of money...we're some of the cheapest @##!^%, most impatient sons of guns on the planet...I say that with love....

As much as I love guns and gun stuff, I'd never get in the business.

That's because I ended up receiving an email from him after I posted. It's over and done.

As to this comment below: I was NOT soured at all, just asking questions. I know relatively nothing about this ammo seller, and after placing an order online and sending a check, I could not even get on the site. So I got to thinking that there might be an issue and simply asked about it. Your assumption that I am soured is just that; an assumption.

I was online yesterday trying to order even more ammo when the issue happened with the site. Perhaps I should have just noted the website had issues? What if I had posted that? "Swamp Fox Website Issue." Is that better? Maybe that would have put him off, too. Who knows. There is no phone number to call, only email. After emailing him on Monday with no response, then having problems even accessing the website on Tuesday, I became concerned. I've dealt with plenty of folks online, and the best way to get ahold of an online retailer when they don't respond via email is post something onine about the issue. That get's their attention.

Simply put, he noted that his sales drop dramatically when someone posts something about problems online, and for that, he didn't want my money and turned down the sale, something that actually did drop his sales. He can do whatever he pleases. I am a business owner and make the same kind of decisions day to day, so I understand. I apologized to him via email and told him I hoped it didn't affect his sales, and that his decision to not sell me the ammo pushed me into deciding to roll my own. So it all worked out fine.

ETA: I am not going to reply to this any further, because it will just keep the thread at the top. So please, someone lock this thread so it can't be bumped by further replies. It will only serve to hurt Mike's business based on the title alone, which is something I am not able to change. Thanks.
