WTF has this world come to????

My son was suspended from school(5th grade), missing the last days of school this year. Why? For having a rubber band around his wrist as he stepped off the bus.

Some kid got hit in the eye with a rubber band last year, and the mom raised holy hell. So the school banned rubber bands.

    School.

    Banned rubber bands.

So my kid gets off the bus with one on his wrist. "You need to throw that away" would have sufficed IMO. No. They put him in ISS for the day, then suspended him for the remaining days of the year.

    ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME???

And of course, I'm stuck having be "Dad".

"Kiddo, if that's the rule and you know it, you HAVE to abide by it. You don't have a choice, so no more crap like this."

Followed by; "Ya, it's stupid. I know it's stupid, you know it's stupid. But until you're out of school, you're going to be surrounded by stupid. Just grit your teeth, and get through it."

    :steamed:

    Un-frikin-believable.

Nothing surprises me much anymore these days. It's crazy how much has changed since I was in grade school and middle school and hell that wasn't to long ago since I'm 24.

Have they banned hair scrunches that the girls wear in their hair? Wheeeeew I bet you could do some damage with one of those too.

Seriously? Wow. I'd be having a serious talk with the principal and/or school board. That's just not ok.

the irony is that the institutions we expect to educate our children have become some of the staunchest bastions of wanton stupidity in the word.

    This. :steamed:

I thought about calling up and chewing some ***, but I've tried "talking" to those idiots before. Waste of ****ing breath.

It goes against every grain in my body, but I don't wish to paint a giant bullseye on my son's back by pissing off all his school's hired retards.

    This sucks.

    That would be frikin awesome.

I'm still debating giving it to him, but in my subtle way of getting a stab in at the school...

    I got him a "Glock Perfection" t-shirt.

I'd bet the farm you'd have better luck turning blue like a damn smirf talking to them before you could get them to be rational. It's pretty simple, you just can't fix stupid brother!
