I saw a study that correlated temperatures over 90 degrees F with an increase in violent crime.

With the amount of bickering in some threads over the past 24 hours, I'd say that the summer temp is getting to some GT'ers.

Gonna go sip on a nice, icy glass of water now.

    Cheers!

Well it could be the weather...or it could just have to do with the safe anonymity of being behind a computer screen.

I have a couple of friends that are police officers and every summer they would tell me how the calls and violence went up as soon as it started getting hot. People, especially low income folks, who cannot afford air conditioning tend to head outside as the temps rise. The more people outside interacting, the greater the chance for some of them getting into altercations.

Also I don't know about you, but I seem to have less patience when over heated.

Not saying I'd get violent, but I'm sure there's plenty who would anyways, then to add irritability due to over heating.

It sounds like we are going to have another round of this stuff this week.

You want to see heat wave violence, you should have been near where i live over the last 2 days.It looked like the gas shortage of the 70's.

There was no power for miles and miles and where there was power and only 2 gas stations had power and gas till you reached Huntington,WV 10 miles west.

I thought heads were going to roll because of the lines waiting to get gas.The cops came out to direct traffic but it was still chaos.

There's a similar phenomenon for extreme winter.

I think the common denominator is that as a culture, we're becoming ill mannered, ill bred and uncivilized.
