I just purchased a Glock 39 as my new back-up weapon. I need some suggestions from everyone as to what type of ankle holster to buy for it while I'm on duty and also what would be the best holster to use for it while off-duty? All suggestions are welcome!

In my opinion, Alessi makes the best ankle holsters, period.

For off duty I suggest a Blade-Tech OWB, straight drop or a Blade-Tech IWB, FBI cant with straps. Check them out at www.blade-tech.com

Give Kevin at K&D Holsters a call. If he does not have what you need I bet he can make one up.

    G39 belt holster.
Akers leather XR13 Flatsider Strapless, currently made, for the Glock 26,27. The holster will stretch.

J.P. Evans at Rock Creek Leather makes a great IWB for the G39.

As a bonus, it also fits the G36. <--- used to say G29

Tell him Rene sent you -- it might double the price.;f

Edited to reflect an error on my part (not enough coffee when I first posted this):

The Evans IWB for the G39 also fits the G36.

    My apologies.

    Rene440,

I'm really interested in an IWB holster for my G39. You wouldn't happen to have a picture of the one made by Rock Creek Leather would you?

    Thanks!

No, I don't. No digital snapper today. The holster itself is made of top grain leather and has two independent RH/snap belt holders. Like a glove, ok?

I actually own three of J. P.'s holsters: one for my G29 or G30, one for my G36 or G39 (which will fit my soon come G26) and a pocket holster model for my KT32.

From the card: Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If your pistol does not fit properly or you are not satisfied with any aspect of your holster, please contact me (J. P. Evans). I will do whatever it takes to ensure your satisfaction.

Drop him an email or call. He may have a picture or two to send.

I've got a Milt Sparks VersaMax 2 (horsehide with sharks trim) for my G39 and I really couldn't be happier. It was a long wait (4 months exactly), but the fit, comfort and quality are all that I could have asked for. The VM2 can be used with either leather or kydex (interchangeable) belt loops. The kydex loops allow a shirt to tucked over the IWB holster.

I like kydex holsters, but my personal preference for IWB carry will always be leather.

    :)
