Who has one and how do you like it? My brother just got an 08 hatch. I told him to do his research and I'd do mine but I didn't have the time to do mine because he traded his old ride so quick.

Hopefully he made the right choice, because I know nothing about these cars.

    Anybody have any input?

Subarus are the best cars ever made. Nothing can compete with them.

    Only sith deal in absolutes...

I don't have any experience with awd cars but I would certainly do a hard comparison to a mitsu evo. I have no love for the bishis but those cars have a great rep for performance.

I think there was a long thread on this very subject last week. You may want to look it up.

your subie trolling gets old really quick.

we get it. subarus suck in your opinion.

is it the attitude of some subie owners that bugs you? Why do you let someones opinion of their own vehicle bother you so much?

who cares if they think their cars are snow mobiles. just laugh at the cocky ones who are stuck in ditches.

to the op, yeah, i think they are good cars. ive had a few, currently own two older imprezas. 94 L and a 99 rs. they are fun little cars, fairly reliable, and hold their value. my problem is with the arrogant people that think they are unstoppable snow machines that can go anywhere. they are still a car with similar ground clearance to other passenger cars. they arent lifted jeeps or anything. that said, they do pretty well with winter tires on slick surfaces as long as you arent hi centered in a foot of hardpacked snow.

I got a 2004 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport this past tuesday.

I'm in love with it so far. It gets 28 mpg and drives like its on rails. I can't speak for its reliability myself but I've heard good things.

The 2.5 is prone to headgasket failure, otherwise a solid motor.

its been a couple years, but i wont lie, ive had them beached one or two times. :embarassed:

it was both times in about a foot or more of heavy wet snow. ground clearance and inexperience were to blame. lost momentum. they do good for what they are i guess. ive never had a problem on road, its always off playing around when i get stuck.

my lifted XJ did better, but sold her a while back.
