After doing a lot of research after my Winchester gun safe failed I went with a Sturdy Safe.

    http://www.sturdysafe.com/

7 gauge body (3/16) and 5/16 door, ceramic fire lining, and 14 gauge inside lining.

Its much stronger than most gun safes (RSC) out there. A lot of people here are still doubting sturdy’s claims. So here is video of Terry the owner attacking one of his safes.

Here is a pry test (Note Terry has removed 50% of the active locking bolts and has cut a slot for the pry bar)

Here is a side bolt punch test.

credibility goes down when you do something like this on your own product ..

It might help if you ACTUALLY watched the video before criticizing it.

    This is true.

If he truly beleived in it that much, he would give it to a professional unbiased safecracker and publish that.

Why, I see commercials all the time, and that's all it is. You are seeing exactly what he wants you to see and he is incredibly biased.

Or do you think he would actually show you if he popped the safe?

    i did watch the video,

but im one that favors independent testing,

let me go at it with a crowbar / fire ax / other common home depot tools and then ill have my mind made up..

looks good & congrats...i just wouldn't have anything with a dial...upper recessed keys...IF the BG does get in, first thing he's gonna do is try to break off the dial...then ya have about $800.00 for someone to fix it...my .02...not knocking it, looks great & will serve you well

It's a good video, and it looks like a nice sturdy safe. But the fact remains that there are independent quality testers for most major industries for a reason. It looks like they did a fairly good job of it with the big pry bar test, and that sort of thing -- but as a general rule, it's true that "testing" your own product isn't always the best way to gain credibility. It's more of an observation on the whole idea of it than an attack on those three guys and that company, I'm sure.

Looks like a nice safe, though! Once Mrs. Crit and I aren't renting, I'll be looking into one, myself.

What exactly happened with your Winchester safe, if you don't mind me asking?

Reading up on it (and looking at the pics, yikes!) right now. Thanks for the link, and thanks for sharing that experience with GT as a heads up, back when it happened.. I'm sorry they busted into your stuff like that, but I'm glad the alarms and your local cops nabbed the a-holes!
