I guess they're also going to say that the DNC had nothing to do with his decision and that they never tried to pressure him to go along.

Now, if the other congress-critters would just follow suit.

Stupak is a coward. He and his group essentially cast the deciding votes in health care, and now he doesn't have the backbone to stick around and take the heat for what he has done.

    Well.......let's see.

You're an employee who has done a major screw-up. Do you quietly resign and go away....or do you wait around to be cussed out and fired??

Another blow dried BS’er pulling a kamikaze maneuver.

He will be sucking a fat pension off the taxpayers for years to come.

And what do you bet that the "right wing radically violent death threats from those Tea Party wackos" get the "blame"? And watch all the "progressives" lap it up with a spoon.

Just another shift on the starship "Political Monkey Business" as it cruises the universe in searches for any, just any sort of intelligent life.

Coward. I hope the ones that followed his lead get what they deserve.

Basically, after years of easy re-elections, he is looking at a very difficult re-election campaign, an doesn't want to put forth the effort. If he really believed that he did the right thing by voting for HC, then he should stand up and defend his decisions. But the fact is he knows he caved in and voted against the people. So it's easier to just slink away like a cowardly traitor. . .

I'm sure this was all planned from the beginning. Make the controversial vote and then retire. Thats why he voted the way he did.

Did anyone else see all of the other Democrats leaving office?

"Stupak's decision to bow out comes amid a string of recent retirements by Democrats, including Reps. William Delahunt of Massachusetts and Patrick Kennedy of Rhode Island, and Sens. Evan Bayh of Indiana, Christopher Dodd of Connecticut and Byron Dorgan"

Now if we could just get all of them to leave.

See, that is what I am wondering too. I guess we will find out what his sellout price was pretty soon.
