Pancreatic cancer makes up just 3 percent of all cancers in America. But with a one-year survival rate of just 20 percent (and five-year survival rate of less than 8), it’s predicted to be the second leading cause of cancer-related death by 2020.

Headlines about the illness, as a result, tend to be discouraging. But this month scientists from Harvard University’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute have released some much-needed good news. In their study, published in the journal Frontiers of Oncology on July 23, the researchers revealed that a chemical found in cannabis has demonstrated “significant therapy potential” in treatment of pancreatic cancer.

It could cure cancer and some around here wouldn’t accept it. Not the devil weed!!! Can’t have people eat up with the dope.

I sure wish we were as effective at treating cancer as we are with treating.....say.....erectile disfunction or treating AIDs or such.

My wife is responding well to her chemo treatments.....but it's a scary prognosis.

At a time in our lives when we were planning on taking more vacations together and maybe adding another couple of puppies to the house......she's instead fighting stage 4 cancer at 51 years old.

Cures for cancer are what the world desperately needs.

Yeah! Cause maybe pot has some, albeit unverified benefit in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, that means we want to make it available for recreational purposes around the nation to all ages.

    [End Sarcasm]

I get it. You're an addict. And addicts care only about one thing: their drug. But drugs are bad, m'kay? Just ask the boobs controlling san fran how legal pot is working out for them.

Lmao. I’m an addict eh. I don’t even smoke it. Used to sure, but not in a long time. I also don’t have a problem with it being legalized and taxed. But hey, you know me so well.

I'm so sorry to hear this.

My dad is going through much the same thing with my mom. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in December of '17 and has since developed stage 3 gallbladder cancer (completely separate from the lung cancer) and now has 4 cancerous lesions on her brain from the lung cancer.

This is why I've decided to do everything I've ever wanted to do, now. I watched my parents save and wait for retirement, only to have this happen shortly after.

    **** cancer.

I was a weed nay sayer until I watched the 60 minutes special where the CBD isolate relieved if not eliminated seizures in children.

It’s a plant like any other plant that medicinal compounds can be extracted and might have a medical benefit.

And yes you can smoke eat it and get high so what.

The blatant hypocrisy of some of you on this site is unreal. Want to constantly bash marijuana, without knowing the true medical benefits that can be derived from it, some are being discovered everyday, while in other threads posting pics of your favorite booze, which has destroyed how many life's, families?

I think it was breast cancer, either way she is much like my aunt.. My aunt survived stage 4 colon cancer, smokes a lot(and they are unfiltered), and survived the more horrible meningitis that you don’t survive. The doctor was basically playing taps as he was explaining it.

Just so long as they can isolate the chemical that is beneficial and patent it into a pill to be sold for hundreds of dollars AND it can't have any psychoactive effect. Only then will this be true and not a doper ploy for you stoners to all lay around eating chips and playing video games.

Yeah, no matter your addict friends create chaos and mayhem in the workplace, on the highways, in the welfare lines (since stoners aren't good for anything other than to ... stay stoned). Lives ruined. Children neglected.

Yeah, you people are a real asset to civilization.
