I just can't seem to get rid of this thing.

    "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\msuwarn\sdata.dll Trojan horse Agent2.ALPN"

    "C:\Documents and Settings\*\Local Settings\temp\msuwarn.exe Virus found Win32/Heur"

AVG keeps finding it and deleting it. I have run combofix and antimalware, twice.

System restore has been turned off.

Every time I reboot it shows back up again. :dunno:

Have you tried to remove it in safe mode? Have you tried Malewarebytes?

I tried. Safe mode = BSOD :steamed:

I think I may have gotten rid of it manually.

I stopped the processes, and removed it from the registry.

I am doing some more scans to verify. :dunno:

It's just strange that I can't find any reference to it on the Web. :dunno:

I think I have it licked.

I followed THIS to get safe mode working again.

    Everything now scans clean. :phew:

ETA: I forgot to mention how much I hate viri, IE and Facebook!

Many different signs, your computer ...

    stops responding
    locks up often.
    reboots on its own
    your programs don’t work properly
    error messages.
    runs slower than normal
    unknown programs launch
    you getting unexpected messages

    ... to name a few.

There is a major virus going around that shows itself as an antivirus pop up. When you click on the X to close it, that starts the download and its too late. If you see something pop up like that, the best thing to do is NOT click on it and shut down your PC immediately. I just went through this scenario and had to take the laptop up to the local PC repair/service establishment....

just start task manager and end process. you do not have to shut down your computer.

or alt+F4 to close it instead of clicking the X.
