The other afternoon, I was speaking with one of the "Senior Volenteers" that works with our local Sheriffs Dept about gang activity in our area. During the conversation he mentioned that a couple of "Stryker 12" shotgun were seized last year in routine gang busts in the area. Unaware of such a weapon I checked it out on the Net. I have NOT been able to confirm such a sizure by Sheriffs / other LEA's or find any mention in the local paper archives.

The Question: How common is this type of weapon in the gang culture?

    Note: I'm in Southern California.

    Thank you---Keep safe

I highly doubt it, they are not a common gun and are class 3 registered/controlled. "Senior volunteer" has probably been reading too many cops and robbers novels. There would likely be a press/media report somewhere if class 3 weapons turned up in the hands of baddies, the Sheriff would use it to tout himself up for re-election.

Not a lot of them were sold as Title I firearms before they were reclassified by ATFE as Title III weapons. Most of the owners got to file the paperwork under a retroactive 'amnesty' and keep their weapons.

Neat looking and a novelty at the range, but no more devastating than a Mossberg 590.

Thanks, Robo, I sure can't find anything in the different papers on the subject.

It just keeps getting better, don't it?
Very rare even when they were legal here back in the mid 80s. I only have seen one back in the day and none since the 89 CA ban.

The only one I ever saw and handled was the one my Chief owned.

Isn't a stryker the infamous "street sweeper"?
