Anyone have one in hand yet? If so how rapid is the strobe?? I had a procyon because of the strobe but I would prefer streamlight so I was wondering if anyone had there grubby little hands on one yet and had any impressions. The housing and everything is the same but I was wondering how rapid the strobe rate is and how it would effect target acquisition.

Oh and as a shameless plug I am selling a brand new TLR-1 standard and an XTI procyon in the gun accessories forum

Ive been trying to decide between the TLR 1 or the X300. The new TLR-1s interests me.

strobe seems to be a useless feature to me..... I'll stick with the straight-on lights

Im not really interested in the strobe feature, the 160 lumens is what i want to know about.

I've used the Streamlight LED Stinger with the strobe. I think it is useless as well. Yes, it is disorienting on the receiving end, but when you are the user, it is very annoying and hard to focus on the target that you are strobing. It grabs attention when using it for traffic control, but it is very confusing to oncoming drivers. All they see is this rapid blinky thing that some guy is waving. It is hard to convey a message in that usage.

I have a strion with the strobe and have the cone in my squad box and that works pretty well. I train with my strobe to use it before going hands on. I used the technique last month and found it to be very effective but to each his own. But get the traffic cone youll like it trust me!

My Fenix PD30 has the strobe feature along with the 230 lumen rating. The strobe is very disorienting and I've made a few friends very upset when I strobed them. One of them almost fell down and threw up. It's way worse than just having a solid 230 lumen light on you, that's for sure.

It seems like the strobe could be very useful if you raid strip bars and discos a lot.

Or you can raid a normal bar and turn it into one of your favorite haunts with the strobe. Your TLR strobe won't help against those industrial strobes anyway, I've tried.

Ordered one today because LAPoliceGear is having a 16% off of anything sale until tonight. $101 after the coupon is not too bad.

Also, for those interested they had a SureFire X300 LED open box for $200.. so $168 after the code...

I have my order piling up on LAPG too, waiting to see how much more Trunk Monkey Patches I can buy. Going to get the bug out bag and backpack along with a few holsters from DeSantis. They make some good stuff.
