I like to stream talk radio over my phone to listen to Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, etc. I have used TuneIn, IHeartRadio, and Talk Right. The issue is random stoppages and buffering. Inexplicably they all seem to have the same problem. It happens (counterintuitively) the most when on my home wi fi but also to a lesser degree out and about on 4G. I have a fast connection and a good router. I can watch 4K movies with Dolby audio with zero buffering. Why does AM talk radio cause so many issues? It seems like the commercials work, then when the show resumes it goes kaput. I open the app and its just spinning for minutes and minutes.I've googled and contacted support for the apps and Samsung and they say increase buffer size in settings or get a faster connection or some other BS. Has anyone here encountered this and found a fix? Seriously makes no sense and pissing me off. I wonder if I put on a liberal show if I'd have the same issue?

I had the same issue with iPhone streaming radio apps. I received a one year free trial of SiriusXM with a car purchase. I like it In the car but their mobile app is great. Lots of good content to listen to. I’m pretty sure I will extend when my trial is up. I’m told their prices are very negotiable.

So no buffering with SiriusXM? Maybe thats what is going on. Trying to drive listeners to paid premium versions. But why would someone pay for an app that doesn't work?

I walk for exercise and tried numerous radio apps with terrible results. I have experienced zero buffering with SiriusXM. The Sirius
XM app works great. The only downside I have experienced with the car radio is that it will not work in my garage and can be spotty under a really long underpass or tunnel.

    Try clearing the app cache.

Sirus in the car relies on a satellite signal so when it's blocked like in a garage or tunnel, you lose the signal (line of sight). The app gets data from internet connection or wifi/cellular so it's a much stronger signal that can pass thru objects.

    I use Tune In Radio.

The stuff local to me works. I have tried stuff in other areas of the world and it is marginal.

Yes. Its an ASUS. It has adaptive QoS. The feature was not on but I turned it on and selected media streaming for priority. But as stated before no issues with high def movies/audio. I don't think its a bandwidth problem.

HAhahaha, full circle. I moved away from an actual AM radio initially due to poor audio quality and interference from power lines etc. But yeah I have thought about it.

+1 No buffering. Brings in my favorite radio stations just fine. Dropped Sirius. Between Spotify and I-Heart Radio no need for it now.

I started with iHeartRadio, when issues started I moved to TuneIn, and then finally TalkRight. I have cleared the cache in the apps as someone here suggested. Hope that is the resolution. I'll report back. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I've been thinking of getting a multiband radio with SW.
