So this morning at 5:30 am I was leaving my house to meet some friends to work out. As I walk out the front door I hear some rustling across the street. I see a large animal ripping through some garbage bags. I spotted it up with my streamlight and at first I thought it was a deer. It was tall, but when it looked up and showed teeth I knew it was no deer. I went back inside and grabbed my G23 stuffed it in my MTAC and stuffed that in my wind pants and pulled the drawstring tight.

I went back out the front door and it was still there. I walked to my car with the light on it the whole time. I got in and backed out, up next to it. I only had my cell phone and I couldn't get a good picture of it, it was too dark. When I got closer, I couldn't tell what it was. It didn't have a collar so it probably wasn't a pet on the loose. It was tall, like I said I thought it was a deer. It was kind of like a Russian Tiger Stripe camo color. Long tail. It didn't raise its head again so I couldn't tell what it was. In the short time I was checking it out I thought it looked kind of feline, but was possibly a huge dog. It definitely wasn't a coyote, way too big. It was about 1.5 times the size of a German Shepherd. It was weird. It seemed to only be interested in the garbage so I left it alone. Wish I had gotten a good picture of it.

I put this in carry issues because it reaffirmed to me that animals are a serious threat related to CCW. This thing was big and could have easily handled me.

Sounds like that G23 might not have done you any good either unless you've loaded up some silver bullets. :whistling:

I've been trying to figure out how to carry it while working out. The belly band isn't going to work I think, I might return it for a Safariland ALS.

A brindle Great Dane would fill that description.

Sounds otherworldly, or 2BB's chupacabra kung-fu dog? This definitely sounds like a good case for Extreme Shock. Don't leave home without the protection of the rotating nytrillium cone.

Good call. Similarly, a friend of mine has a brindle mastiff that fit the description.

Those are all possibilities. I thought it was either a huge dog, or a cougar. I somehow don't see how a cougar would live in Kennesaw, GA, but nothing amazes me anymore.

We have Cougars spotted in Forsyth so Kennesaw would not be a stretch , But based on it not fleeing from a human hitting it with a light I'm going with a large dog.

It kinda sounds like a wolf. Not sure if there are wolves in your area. I had one encounter with a wolf and I thought it was deer until I got close. Those things are huge and mighty leggy.
