    Just a question for Eric.

I run a modified /etc/hosts file on my Linux box. It terminates a lot of pop-up sites to 127.0.0.1 to short circuit web page attempts to redirect to advertising and such. You can find it here: http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/ Things like click counters and such are also redirected to 127.0.0.1

I also run a local httpd server (apache) and notice in the logs that when I access various pages on GT, I get access redirected (i.e., they become 127.0.0.1) to my local web server. Here are some from my access_log:

    127.0.0.1 - - [28/Jun/2006:06:09:47 -0400] "GET /n2.g?login=ericgt&url=http%3A//www.glocktalk.com/forumdisplay.php%3Fs%3D%26forumid%3D48&pv=&jv=y&j=y&srw=1024&srb=24&l=http%3A//www.glocktalk.com/usercp.php HTTP/1.1" 404 287 "http://www.glocktalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=48" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060614 Fedora/1.5.0.4-1.2.fc5 Firefox/1.5.0.4 pango-text"
    127.0.0.1 - - [28/Jun/2006:06:10:52 -0400] "GET /n2.g?login=ericgt&url=http%3A//www.glocktalk.com/index.php%3Fs%3D&pv=&jv=y&j=y&srw=1024&srb=24&l= HTTP/1.1" 404 287 "http://www.glocktalk.com/index.php?s=" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060614 Fedora/1.5.0.4-1.2.fc5 Firefox/1.5.0.4 pango-text"

I know Eric likes to run a tight ship, nice and clean. Any idea what behavior is happening here? These are happening when I click on the forum links (GG, GNG, etc.).
