Stoeger just announced that it will have the Cougar in .45 soon . I cant wait! I didnt want to pay the $600 for a Cougar back in the 90's so I am so ready for this !
Anyone else gonna get one ?
Only bad thing is that I have to decide what goes to fund the new .45 :crying:

Yeah, saw the .45 on the Stoeger site during SHOT. Nice that they added the rail. I just wish they would have upped the capacity by one at least. Changed the follower or something. 9 isn't 10 but I'll take it over 8. I mean, they do call it "double column".

Ouch, I just checked the Stoeger site and saw the magazine hold only 8 rounds, as was posted above. That's a shame. I was hoping for perhaps a higher capacity .45 ACP Beretta PX4 Storm. It's odd that .45 ACP pistols seem to now be all over the place in terms of capacity. I guess that's a consequence of modifying a 9mm platform. It also looks like the .45 ACP will only be available in black. The new silver models look pretty good.

The $499 MSRP price point will put it into a class of its own, IMO, despite any potential shortcomings.

Sounds good to me, I've always wanted to snatch up a Stoeger before the go up even more in price.

Wow, I just checked the website. These don't look too shabby at all. They're on the big side for carry, but they're still seem to be a good deal considering.

I have a Beretta Coggar 8045 and use it for a house gun. Great shooter but typical Beretta-Fat grip. A little big for CCW but it is a great gun.

I know I'm obsessed with the 10MM, but I wonder if the rotating locking of the barrel would be better than the browning system of locking for the 10MM? If so I'd buy a Cougar in 10MM in a heartbeat.

When I was looking for a compact .45 I've shot side-by-side every gun I could put my hands on. Cougar was the largest of the bunch, the most awkward to operate and the most accurate.

I don't want to own any firearm that deems it necessary to stamp "FIRES WITHOUT WARNING" on the slide.:wow:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I may be wrong , but I thought that Beretta made the Cougar specificaly for the .40 round cartridge. So if so , then the .45 round will be no problem . The Cougars were chambered for the .45 in the 90's but I saw most of them in the compacts and not the fullsize .
I cant wait to get a fullsize one.
The mag capacity doesnt bother me . My 1911 only holds 7 so that is 1 more than it

It says "WARNING:RETRACT SLIDE TO SEE IF LOADED. FIRES WITHOUT MAGAZINE". The lawyer warnings do ugly up any pistol, however.
