I want to use 200grn fmj doubletap ammo for back country carry, and use double tap 165 bonded defense rounds for concealed carry rounds. Do I have to add a stiffer spring to my gun ,or can I use stock? Thanks

Good question i was wondering that myself. I got some of Underwood's 135,180, and 200.

No..all the ammo you mention will run just fine in a STOCK Glock 20. No additional springs required.

    Have fun.!

Nope, I run hot loads through my stock 20 and 29 all the time.

I carry the Double Tap 200 FMJ in my Glock 20 when I'm fishing. I've shot it and the Underwood 200 FMJ with both the stock recoil spring and my Lasermax unit that has a heavier spring although I'm not sure of the exact weight. I haven't had a bit of problem with either. I'm actually going to change my Lasermax to the same weight spring as stock because currently racking the slide is a little challenging.

Underwood is definitely worth a try if you ask me. Check out tnoutdoors9 on youtube he did a ammo test on one of their loads. The results were surprising.

If you are keeping your brass a heavier spring may help decrease the fling factor, but to run 10mm ammo as a whole the stock spring is fine.
