I've tried ad aware and spy something or other and unless I'm doing something wrong, I can't for the life of me remove these sites.
I run the full system scan, find the critical areas, quarantine them and voila, they're baaaack.
    Any other suggestions?
Would it help to right click on them and send them to a floppy? Or would they still be embedded?
Thanks for your patience folks, I really do appreciate all your help!

What sites are they? Sounds like you got yourself a browser hijacker.

Get Spyware Nuker 2004. It will show the registry entries of any popup programs that are giving you trouble. You will have to use regedit and delete the entries manually unless you want to pay for the full version.

Edit your msconfig to stop the programs from starting with your system.

Get both spybot and ad-aware (get version 1.05).
Get the newest versions with all of their updates.

Boot into safe mode, and do a full sysytem scan with ad-aware.

    Run another scan with spybot.

Restart your computer and hopefully the spyware is gone.

Ditch Internet Explorer. Use something less vulnerable like FireFox or Opera.

Once you're done with that, run Hijack This and post your log here. We'll tell you what to fix.

SpyWare nuker 2004 identified buried popup registry entries that AdAware and SpyBot both missed. The flip side is that AdAware and SpyBot will identify SpyWareNuker2004 as spyware. It's just that the programs don't play well together.

You should use "services.msc" instead of msconfig for altering service/startup programs.

The best program that I have found to remove browser hijacking programs is called CWS Shredder. If you run a search on the internet it will find it. This program is awesome.

I keep hearing how great CWShredder is. I have used it and it is definitely worth a try. On the other hand, I have never experienced a browser hijacking problem that CWShredder has been able to fix.

Hijack This, when used by someone with some experience, has a pretty good success rate against browser hijackers. I have only had a few instances where it wasn't able to correct the problem.

Thank you all for all of your help. I removed spybot and ad aware and installed NoAdware (cws shredder) and got rid of the little devils. Not only did this program rid me of these woodticks, but it also seemed to smooth out my system.
Thanks folks for the kind help.
