A friend of mine is looking at both of these guns and I am trying to steer him towards the STI. Just wondering what opinions you guys have on which gun is the better choice.

Lawdog has a C3 I believe and speaks very highly of it. I would take the STI. I really like the Guardian.

I love STIs, but I'm not sure looks are their strong point. ;)

Agreed. I think they offer some of the best bang for the buck 1911s at various pricepoints. Great guns. Great value. Great customer service. Win. Win. Win.

Sig could have had gold mine when it came to 1911s but they screwed it all up.

I had both. Both are excellent guns. The Sig WILL fit damn near every leather holster. If not then you will have to let the holster form to the Sig.

Kydex holsters will not fit 100% unless you order for the Sig. But it is easy to mold a regular kydex to a Sig with a heat gun.

I actually liked the Sig better, but I hate the new model Sig grip safety. They used to use a Caspian GS, now they use a STI.
