SO I know this isn't quite the right forum....but I figured ham/scanner types would know.....my Kenwood reciever constantly makes grinding/growling sounds....especially when I touch the reciever. The sounds come out of the speakers of course, and I can't figure out whats wrong....in other words if I tap on the reciever I can hear an amplified tap come out of the speakers..any info appreciated.

Is this a solid state receiver? If so you probably have a loose connector or bad solder joint somewhere. If this is a "classic" tube type then you could have a "microphonic" tube. Check for loose connectors. Also make sure any circuit boards are screwed down to the chassis, a bad ground can cause all kind of problems.
