    Anybody read this?

King has generally disappointed me with his more recent stuff over the past 10 years or so. In fact, the last book I bought of his, Cell, I didn't even bother finishing. That said, I *love* his earlier coke and alcohol fueled work. And I am a Kennedy assignation buff so I'm intrigued.

If you've read it, what did you think? And NO spoilers. I just want to know if you'd read it again or recommend it. Thanks!

One of the best he's written (and we've read all of them) and would absolutely read it again, except my wife is currently reading it. She thinks it's great, too.

He certainly is prolific. I can't put down as many words as he can with any quality. But he does seem to be chasing the almighty dollar with his recent work. Same with say Tom Clancy. The hungrier writing of the writers, whichever writer you care to choose, tends to be better.

I'm another one that's read them all, some multiple times. I think 11/22/63 was above average. I would have no problem recommending.

Looking forward to the next "Dark Tower" novel in the spring.

I read it over Christmas, and I highly recommend it. It wasn't what I expected but I think King fans will find it comfortably familiar.

I thought the Dark Tower series wrapped up? I haven't got them all read but I have all the books that are out now.

I like how DT wraps up all his earlier work together into something.

I'm just about finished reading the DT series for the second time now. I just can't see where he'll go with this but I guess that's why I like him so much (on the Tower-related stuff anyway). Hopefully it won't be another money-making venture because I truly hate those (someone mentioned Cell --- LOL).

I am also currently reading The Dome and am thoroughly enjoying it.

I'm about all Dark-Towered out, actually. I'll read the new one just because he's my favorite author, but I'm just over the whole "all paths follow the Beam" and "the Universe is riding on the back of a giant turtle" or whatever.

I think the new one will fit somewhere between the mid-point of the series so it doesn't really change the "wrap up" from volume 7.

I had the privilege of hearing him speak at a local high school, the admission was just buying his book. I have since read the book and it is really good. He was amusing to listen to also. Read it. Also, the butler did it.

Of his books in the last 15 years, i've inly read "The Dome"...

How does this book compare to that.

I thought the dome had an interesting premise, but after a while, bored me to death!

Yeah, I thought the dome was boring, too. Very bland, not like his earlier works. It's almost like he had a bit of a dead spot there, between Cell, Lisey's Story, and The Dome... but 11/22/63 is much, much better. Back to his old form, you might say.

I would love to see him speak. He's so funny...I never expected that from him! Did he say anything about his macular degeneration progressing?

Read it. It is great. It will suck you in deeper and deeper until you can't put it down.

If you already started it, I'm sure you wont read this post until you're finished.
