No snow...but a hell of an ice problem...just ask this guy

Surely there must be some snow atop one of those towering Hawaiian volcanoes?

I have windsurfed South Point and snowboarded on Mauna Kea all in the same day on the Big Island.

 

When I was stationed at Pohakuloa Training Area, Hawaii they issued us arctic parkas. We thought it was a joke until morning when we woke up to an inch of frost the had formed in the night. It is in between mauna loa and mauna kea and it snows enough to ski on them. Google "ski Hawaii".

 

They claim there isn't any there right now.....and I can't see any from the cams....
