In a defense scenario it is obvious that we need to look at the threat first.
In competition, however, if we can cheat, we will. `p
Therefore, is it not better to wait for the beep already looking at the front site, and then move eye with front sight to the plate?

Some like to look at the sights and come up to the target, some at the target and bring the sights up in line. It's not cheating, it's preperation. :)

I look at the spot on the target or plate that I want to hit. If I have to pick up a gun off a table or something I will look at the gun, otherwise it always a specific spot ont he target.

    Thanks.
Matt, if shooting with a scope, looking at the target must be the way to go. But if you were to shoot with iron sights, and the gun was already in the low ready, might it not be quicker to be focusing on the front sight from the off (if we are watching the front sight anyway, even in recoil, and not the target)?

I do what is explained above for any type of sights, iron or optic.

I think every Master in GSSF directs his/her focus to the first target. They train to bring their pistol up on target, just as you train defensively.

I knew a guy once who would look at the sight with one eye and the target with the other. That was cool except when he was talking to you because one eye was always looking at someone else.

Be wary of the man that only looks at you with one eye!

That "Aiming Fluid" sounds a lot like the "Camera Cleaner" I used to use in my pro-photo days! :)

I look at the front sight, briefly before the command, "Shooter standby.............." but when the buzzer goes off, I'm looking at the target where I want to hit and I bring the gun up to the height where I see the front sight and then I fire. Looking at the target has always been where my eye is focused prior to the buzzer when I shoot both iron sights and red dot sights.

    Thanks,
    Bobby
