They will hand out business cards under the new Right to Know Act. The cards have information on the back about how to file a complaint against an officer and obtain police body camera video. Officers must also inform people that they have the right to say no to some searches. The City Council passed the law in January after years of battling the NYPD. "A lot of people don't feel comfortable being able to go up to a cop when they think something went wrong and say hey can I get your badge and name. Because they are afraid of escalation. They don't need to worry about that," said City Councilman Antonio Reynoso. To learn more about the Right to Know Act, go online to nyc.gov/rtka or call 311.
