I started my new part time job today I don't get paid until I am finished training then I make $8.00 hr about 8 to ten hours a week under the table.
It sucks working for free but so be it, I was packing concealed the owner is good with that, the part I don't feel comfortable with is they don't do cash drops when the till gets filled there is gobs of money in the till, back 30 years ago when I worked a cash drawer we never kept over $200 in the till would always drop the extra in a vault away from the till.
There is a lot to learn with everything that is in the store,
The owner is Indian as in from India but he's pretty cool, the jury's still out as to If I really want to do this, I could use the extra money but not hip on the could get robed again idea.
Having trouble trying to understand some people I don't understand Ebonics real well.
Part of me thinks he wants me there because I am armed :dunno:
    Regards
    DW

Exactly how many times are you going to post about being paid cash under the table that won't be taxed?

You are lucky Congress is trying to pass a bill that only allows the IRS to go after you for 10 yrs instead of 20 for unpaid taxes. You will not have to sweat it as long now.

Along with the income tax evasion, how much training do you really need to work at a Quickie Mart? They gonna teach you how to put hot dogs on those roller things?

Personally, I don't have any problem with him leaving the .gov out of the extra money that he's trying to earn. I was considering doing the same thing. I pay out a lot from my regular career. I don't want them in my spending money too.

And how much training is involved in scanning bar codes? That's all they do anymore. It's been a long time since I've seen a clerk punch in a price.

Normally I would have a problem with "under the table pay" but at $8 an hour 8 to 10 hrs a week he could claim zero and still barely have any witholding. At $80 dollars a week thats only $4160 a year, not really going to effect his taxes that much anyway.

The "under the table" workers that hurt the country are the illegals who are making $30-$40+ grand a year, meanwhile getting free health care, and food stamps, etc.

I think you pay it upfront. If you do not make enough you get it back at the end of the year. And then there are those other silly things they take out of your check as well.
