I had wanted to see both, but I can't stomach watching idiots anymore. I watch less TV and movies than I used to. At least I am reading more.

You VASTLY over-estimate the amount of folk who care about an actors political views.

Maybe not. Most of the gun owners I work with and around, and shoot with, don't patronize Hollywood at all. At the very most, we will red box or PPV it if it is a really good movie. But we don't go to the theater for it.

I don't think I've watched MSNBC, NBC, or CNN in years, and most of these people I mention are the same way.

Arnold and Sly are washed up hypocrites. Both made a fortune in gun flicks, yet both are control advocates.

The other 99.989% of the population don't care though.

I think it has more to do with them being has-been action stars who's careers peaked decades ago.

"But everyone I know voted for McGovern!"

It's late January/early February. This is the time of year when movie-goers are more often going to see films that were nominated for academy awards or other more "general" fair movies. Action movie time is late April/early May through late August. When studios put stuff like this out at this time of year, they're aiming for the die-hard fans of those films (pun intended, when you look at what's coming out in a few weeks).

Then there's also the part about Stallone and Schwarzenegger being movie-icons of the PREVIOUS generation. The current primary movie-going crowds just see them as "old guys."

If there were polls being done, I'd be willing to bet most people don't even KNOW their political views, let alone have those views dictate whether they see a movie or not.

Did you guys ever consider the much more likely reason being that the movies sucked? I go to movies to be entertained, and I couldn't care less about the opinions of the actors on what to wear, much less gun control.

Loved watching Nolan Ryan, on the mound, in his prime but wouldn't bother watching him at his advanced age. All things run their course and those two idiots are way too ripe to draw an audience.

Expendables did pretty well, as did the sequel. I don't think it's the actors, their politics or the weather for that matter. Movies bomb based on how good/bad they are. I would guess politics had exactly zero to do with it not doing well.

Glad to hear the movies these washed up hypocrites played in are tanking. I think they are tanking just because they are too damn old to be playing these rolls.
