    Hey all,

I saw a used BHP in my LGS that looks to be stainless. It looks more stainless than nickel and I have never seen one. The finish was identical to a smith 4506 which makes me think stainless. Had an aftermarket extended safety stainless slide stop lever and the sights looked similar to the mark 3's. Grips were the flat panel style not the shaped ones like on the mark 3.

They have it listed for &1250 but I can probably talk them down to 1100.

My question is is this stainless or nickel plated, and what is the value? Very good condition. This would be a very cool pistol but the price is a bit above my normal limit

There was never a stainless Browning Hi Power.

It may have been hard chromed.

That is what I thought. The finish is very similar to the stainless Smiths and I have never seen one. I am going to have to go back and have another look and get a pic. I am thinking nickle plated and bead blasted. I am seriously thinking about buying it but want to make sure it was not messed with

Thanks! I knew you were the one who would know.

$1250 sounds a bit pricey for a High Power, but we understand that they are great pistols. Your call...

    We trudge on.

It all depends on the year and condtion. Hi Power values are all over the board.

Early models in great shape can go over $2K.

This still new in pouch 1960 model cost me about that last year.
