I posted in a thread a while back that a bud of mine had ordered a Stag AR and when it came in it, shot about 8" to the right. After a couple of calls to Stag they had him send it back. Well he received it back this week and we just went to the range. It still shoots to the right. This time with the site centered it shoots 5" right. He can now adjust his site to be on at 50 yards but should he accept that or do something else? What would you do?

Have two or three people shoot the rifle first.
After that, if it is still shooting 5" right, call Stag and have it sent back again.

He and I and one other person shot it. The best group was 4" right. The owner is a former sniper and Fed LEO.

Does it have the detachable carry handle? I have suspicions about the detachable handle on my Model 1. It shoots all over the place at 100 yards unless I use the smaller aperture. I had a buddy shoot it who shoots milsurp guns with open sights and shoots them very well. He was all over the place too until flipping to the smaller aperture. He said it seemed as if something was moving.

How much room is there still left to adjust the sight?
If it isn't all the way over, and still some more adjustment left, that is still "normal".

First time it shot right adjusted all the way, now it shoots close if it is adjusted all the way. He is planning a 1x4x Trijicon but my thought is, if it is off to the right at 50 yds than will it not get further right when he shoots it at longer ranges? We took the red dot off my Bushy and put it on his rail (in a Larue QD mount) His front post is right of the centered dot. When I put the dot on my Bushy it required no adjustment out of the box.

Jeremy, his is a flat top with an ARMS 40 on it.

Either the ARMS 40 is screwed up or the front sight is canted.
    Try a different rear sight.

    Mvician has it pegged!

Have the Stag owner borrow a different rear sight

Contact STAG. They have excellent customer service. Explain what's going on and see what they say.

Why mess with a problem, he has a warranty. Use it

It has been sent in once. Mvician, I may let him put my Troy rear sight on it but I am leaning toward the front sight being the culprit...or the barrel. Like I said, we took my red dot off my rail and put on his, the front sight on mine sits dead under the dot, on his the front sight is off to the side of the dot. He thinks he is going to put one of my spare scopes on it and see how it shoots at different ranges. If it shoots straight with a scope then he is probably going to keep it. It would drive me batty if my rifle was like that.

Then call again and have them make it right.

If a car repair is messed up you take it back, no different for this product.
