Lot of old growth Oak trees behind me. Because of this I have 6-8 squirrel's I see in the area. Yesterday I saw a squirrel carrying something in his mouth. Looking closer it was another squirrel. I couldn't tell if it was alive, or not, or if it was a baby, the tail was flapping in the wind. Anyone seen this?

They carry there babies that way. My dad and mom have had pet squirrels all my life, and my dad grew up with them too. He recently saw a momma squirrel carrying one across the street next to our office. Turned out some people were cutting several large oak trees down (Sad).

That's a pic of a mother carrying her baby. It's normal in most species for the baby to go limp or be completely still while the mother is carrying it. Kinda like when you pick up a kitten by the scuff of it's neck. They'll pretty much go limp.
