So I have made my mind up on my next 1911 and decided to go with the ss mil-spec it looks like it is running around 700$, I know buds has them for 640$ shipped but by the time I pay for the fees of the gun dealer it will be close to 700$ and I will have to wait for delivery. I like the basic GI look but want the extras the mil-spec has, just seems like a hard price to swallow for it though. But sure is purty looking pistola

I have SS Springer Mil spec. Great pistol, no complaints at all.
Not to make you feel any worse about the price, but I paid $425-450 for it new 15 or so yrs ago. I was really surprised how much they've gone up in price.
For the current price, you could save up a few more $$ and buy a Series 70 Colt.

I have a colt m1991 A1 and really like it but I just have the springer bug and really like the feel of the springer with the hump on the back strap I think that is what it is called.

:crying:I looked at their website and it says they are sold out but there prices would be around 700 after I had to pay the gun dealer fees, so its 700 no matter what

I bought my new SA SS Mil Spec 1911-A1 last Saturday for 750.00 out the door and have been thrilled every since. Good price on my 1st 1911 (not great) but once I had that beauty in my hand, I had to have it.

I will post pics on my own thread but I was excited to buy her, shoot her, the same hour I bought her!

I have been in the same boat as you for the past month, and finally got the SS Mil-Spec yesterday. After taxes it was 655.00. It comes with the holster and mag pouch.

Got is at Simmons Sporting goods in Bessemer, AL.

I will post some pics tonight to help you jump on the SA train.

    Good luck with your search.

Might wanna see if you can get it from Gunbroker cheaper. I've seen them on there for between $600 and $650 reserve.
