    I'm guessing 16, but I'll pass. I'm waiting on the Steyr L!

If it's flush fit it's going to have an extra long grip. My bet is 14 and it might even stay at 13.

Someone on XD Talk spoke with a rep in person and they asked him if he would want an XDm .45 even if it had the same capacity.

But if they shoot for 14 they still might be able to do it. Either by making a slightly longer frame or extending the mag and wrapping it in a baseplate.

I talked to the Springfield guys at SHOT. I was told that the XDM45 would probably have the same capacity as the standard XD45, but that it wasn't set in stone yet. We will have to wait a bit longer to find out for sure.

    Corroborates with what I've heard.

The whole "mega capacity" thing is overrated anyway. Glock with the + x floorplates are mega capacity in my book and those floorplates have been around for a long time. And you can buy a flush fit 18 round mag for the standard 9mm XD.

The Steyr GB used an 18 round mag 20 years ago.

Not a big deal and those who would be disappointed in a 13+1 XDm .45 should rethink their priorities.

I hope it takes the same mags as the regular XD45 because I still have eight of them.

That would be ideal. Especially if the capacity is to be the same. For the 9 and 40, greater capacity was the selling point and they didn't just want you to buy XDm mags for your XD9 or XD 40. But if the capacity is the same but mags aren't interchangeable you will see me boycott Springfield Armory. Not that I want an XDm .45 and have 8 mags like you (I only have 4), but because it simply isn't right.

If the guns hit the showrooms in the 4th quarter they are almost a year out.

Agreed. I have no desire for an XDm in .45 ACP as I already have an XD .45 and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Well, 10mm would be nice.

That's hilarious. Just the other day I was in a small gun shop looking at an XDM40, and I told the owner I was a 45 guy. He told me SA told him they would never make an XDM 45 because they can't make the slide thin enough to meet XDM specs.

I hope he is reading this thread.

I've been thinking about getting a 45. Have read a lot of good reports on the XD, so I rented on at the range. Out of 100 rounds fired I had 6 failures to feed using WWB FMJ. Fired my G17 afterwards and it sure felt better. For some reason, and I know it's me I shoot the G17 a little high and left, but with the XD45 I tended to shoot a little high and to the right. Don't know why that is........more practice I guess.

Did anyone at the Springfield booth mention a price point?
