Wow this can't be beat for an entry level 1911! Overall fit and finish is much nicer than a previous Springfield G.I. I have used.

The slide to frame fit is very tight. The trigger is light and crisp with just a tiny amount of take-up. Reset is very short. My only complaint so far is the thumb safety is a little stiff but I'm sure it just needs a little break in.

It looks great and I really like the plain wood checkered grips that it comes with. It's a gift from the wife so now I just have to put it in the safe until Christmas...

These things are going for Rock Island prices. They're definitely the best deal in 1911s right now. You know you need one.

Love mine so far too. A lot of gun for the money. Great start for a budget build, or just a range shooter. Good trigger, surprisingly tight fit, and nice parkerizing.

I looked on their website and it says Mil Spec, but are they like Colt series 70 or 80? It is a nice looking pistol.

Similar to a series 70. Springfield uses a titanium firing pin instead of a firing pin safety.
