It's a very good price. I just got a parkerized Range Officer 45 from my LGS for $789. It has several upgrades, a match grade stainless barrel, beaver tail grip safety, better trigger and adjustable rear sights to name some. It's the easiest handgun to learn to shoot accurately that I've owned.

IMO you can't go wrong price wise with the milspec but if you have big hands I've seen reports of shooters getting hammer bite from 1911s without the beaver tail.

The SA mil-spec is a nice pistol if you can deal with the very short GI trigger (I have moderately large hands and can not), and do not have issues with the GI style grip safety and trigger. The trigger can be swapped for one with a longer shoe easily enough. Fitting a beavertail and changing the trigger is a somewhat bigger deal. The price is certainly good and it has quality construction.

I like to start most "combat" builds with a Mil-Spec Springer.

There's little one can't do with these to start. Great guns to build on.

Generally need a little work or parts depending upon your needs, but still a great place to start.

Yes it is. Buy it and keep it stock or build to suit.If I'm not mistaken the mil-spec has a match grade barrel.

Well I went in too puck it up today and it looks like I am waiting. First time in 14 years of biying guns so I guess I should be glad it is the only time. And yet I can not help but be a bit salty. Lol

No it is the hole they have so many days too say no or else the gun goes too me even if they do not say yes. My guess is because I moved in July they are tripping over the different address so I am being looked at harder.

I assume it's a 4473 form hold you're on? If so did you include your SSAN? it's the one form in life that I voluntarily do give it to help avoid stuff like that.

Ummm idk what it is called ai just know I get it wed. It is longer due to the weekend and the Holliday monday. Yes I put in my SS number but it still happens from time too time. The guy getting a bun before me was put on the same. It could have been as simple as high volume of calls. There where a lot of people in the shop that day.
