Springfield 1911 A1 9MM

    Traded for one today. pretty good condition made in Illinois Seems to be somewhat rare. Any body know much about them? Serial # is NM 44xx Blued gun Looks like the standard 1911 a1 but 9mm

    This a 1988 SA 1911-A1 9mm I picked up a few months ago. I still need to buy a set of SA cocobolo grips to put on it.

    Thanks for the good comments I spoke to Springfield today and was told my gun was made in Illinois in Feb of 1998. And yes it looks like the pics you guys posted.

    You could always pic up the RIA GI 9mm. If you squint really hard it kind of looks like the Springer !!:supergrin:

    I just added a set of Springfield Armory Cocobolo DD checkered grips to my SA 1911A1 9mm. They definitely make this pistol look the way it should. The brown plastic grips were just not cutting it.

    The pistol was for sale on the AR15.COM forum several months ago. It is a 1988 model that is in superb condition.
