This video is a few years old, but I just stumbled across it on YouTube.

I love this channel's videos, but this one is a little...different. If that's how he wanted his ashes spread then so be it, but if not then this is just a little odd in my opinion.

Went to a service years ago where the recently departed's ashes were blown out the top of a huge model rocket. Much, much bigger than the Estes and Century stuff I grew up with. HH

I have thought about this. I am a competition trap shooter, and enjoy shooting in several states. Thought it would be fitting to be scattered at my favorite shooting clubs.

Seems like a fitting end for a shooter.

I have loaded ashes of some of my friends family members into shotgun shells for them to spread there ashes! This was the wish of the deceased and I was happy I could help fulfill the request!

If that's someone's wishes, then I'm all for it.

Exactly. My first brother in law, died of a heart attack at 52. He worked for Zambellies Fire Works and had just finished a show in Luling Mississippi when he dropped. He loved that job. So at his memorial at the farm he grew up on, they filled one of the 10 inch rockets with his ashes and let it rip. It was beautiful and what he wanted. Not a dry eye in the large crowd. 16 years and I still miss him.

I know of a case where ashes were scattered by a 175mm Howitzer. Arty was his life. Ge gave everything to the Corps.

If you want to do it, go ahead.
But don't brag about it without first checking your local and state laws, because it's disposing of a body and disbursing a possible biohazard. The funeral industry has lobbyists who buy politicians, and they want their monopoly.
Again, I don't care if you do or if you don't, just find out whether it's legal before you decide.

My ashes are intended to be distributed into some nearby saltwater, preferably during rough seas, maybe even whitecaps....:drowning:...leave no trace.

Been a part of a shotgun spreading of ashes. I think it's a great thing for those still alive. It would be better if you could mix the ashes with real shot and take a bird with it. I would not want to be the one entrusted with the shot.
