I have been, but I don't recall seeing any ice houses on Lake Meredith!
It ended up looking a lot better than I ever expected. I thought the tarp roof was the going to be the final version.
Ha-Ha...I had an old Subaru something like that. Didn't need to cut a hole in the floor, it rusted out all by itself. Had a couple 2x4s holding up the seats (pressure treated of course for safety). Stupid little wagon would go anywhere, and if we did get stuck me an my buddy could usually pick it up enough to get onto better footing.
I miss his dating adventures.
Sounds like my first car, front right carpet was always soaking wet from the rusty hole under it. Ended up using a street sign and a tube of Liquid Nails stuff to fix it.
That's not gonna make it thru the car wash either.
I miss Vart.
He kept things interesting. Sure he was flawed but in a great thread creating kind of way.
I miss FNFALMAN too. He had cool guns and while we disagreed sometimes, he had interesting perspectives.
I miss Dennis in MA too. He was pretty smart for a Yankee from Mass.
GamerGirl (we didn't see eye to eye on much, but she was always up for a good debate)
Lots of good people have come and gone...
What happened to Dennis? He never struck me as a trouble maker or a flouncer.
I don't he flounced as much as he just left. Someone posted a while back that he's active on an MA shooters website.
Didn't Vart bring a trailer or something cross-country one time? Maybe that's what you're referring to. I miss Vart - it's the 'not so usual' souls that bring interest to the board.
He was a bit of a character - but he worked hard and raised a couple of good kids. There's a lot to be said for that.
There was an engineer from Corpus Christi who traveled the world working on oil projects. He liked to play guitar. He got sick and died - too bad. Neat guy.
Another interesting fellow from Duluth MN. He worked nights as a dispatcher or something in the Duluth harbor. Bought a new Jeep as I recall. He was an interesting dude.
Glockenspiel... So many cool characters have left. Some are missed. Others are on Eric's new board. LOL
The oil guy was Chad Landry. He was a real good guy who died way too young.
I know who you're talking about from MN, he bought the bright green Jeep. I think he left because of concerns about his ex harassing him here.
Just curious. How have you been here since 2001 and you don't know who Vart was? For a couple years he was nearly as prolific a poster as Okie.
Vary? Is that a fart in Vermont?
Big deal, why should you care? I'm familiar with lots of forum names, that one didn't stick with me. Not losing a second of sleep over that. Don
Landry was a big loss.
G17Cabbie or something like that. Met up with him a few times.
Weird to look through some old threads.
That was a weird time....
I think the guy from MN may have been Ender...
